Spring 2024 Zoom presentation with Fred Reppun, a kalo farmer and Education Coordinator at the Heʻeia National Estuarine Research Reserve. In talking story with Fred, we learned about the geological structure of the Koʻolau mountains and how water diversion has affected his ʻohanaʻs access to freshwater, necessary for growing kalo.

Spring 2024 Ka Lau o Ka Lāhui participated in an in-person walk-around tour of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa campus with Nōweo Kai. During this tour, the history and information on the variety of plants present on the campus of UH Mānoa were shared. Our visit to the Arboretum was enlightening and invaluable as an organization whose history has strong ties to this campus.
